Some oral storytellers can be found in classrooms, some on concert stages, and still others at the kitchen table – telling everything from personal stories to sacred epics from around the world.

Over 25 years Kira’s storytelling path has taken her to all these places and more, but first on voyages to Siberia, Nunavut, and into Van

She will share with us her journey to Nunavut in 2004, including some issues surrounding Inuit traditional knowledge – the effects of colonization and global warming. She’ll also share a part of the popular Inuit epic of the shaman-hero Kiviuq. http://kiravan.com/

Time: Doors open 6 pm Potluck finger food; 7 pm Presentation and Q&A; 8 pm Socialize

The venue is Zero-Waste. Please bring your own serving dishes. We provide cups and small plates.
